Why must Pilgrim Queen of the Family go on pilgrimage?

The Pledge to Mary is the backbone of the Pilgrim Queen of the Family Apostolate. It sums up our nature, objectives and goals. Therefore, the pledge to Mary are included in each of the shrines and thus raise awareness of its importance. Our goal is for each family member of the Catholic Family Network to own, experience and disseminate it.

One of the characteristics of the families affiliated with the Pilgrim Queen of the Family is their  special love for the Virgin Mary manifested through praying the Holy Rosary as a family.

The love of Mary, Mother of God, is the hallmark of all Pilgrim Queen of the Family guardians.

Guardians and families affiliated to the Network love the Blessed Virgin with a tender and filial love, imitating her in her virtues, particularly charity, humility, purity and obedience, entrusting to her their fervor and perseverance in their sanctification efforts, as well as  invoking her maternal help.

Guardians and affiliated families live this love for Mary, not as an expression of feelings, but as an imitation of the virtues of the one who knew how to say ´yes´ to God´s will and was able to maintain that ´yes´ throughout her entire life.

This love of Mary should bring all the Guardians and affiliated families to learn to accept, welcome and seek the God’s will with joy in one´s life and should be an incentive to lead  to devote their strengths and talents to lead all men to find in the fulfillment of God´s will the way to human and Christian self-realization.

Guardians and affiliated families in the network express their love and devotion to Mary through the practice of acts of Marian devotion that help them to conform themselves each day to the virtues and to always go with confidence to the Mother of the Church, entrusting to her all problems and needs, especially by spreading devotion to the Holy Rosary.

By praying the rosary, we demonstrate our love for our Blessed Mother. She should be our mediator with God. Through the recitation of the Rosary we contemplate the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. To the extent that we contemplate, we will love more.

“In the spiritual journey of the Rosary, based on the constant contemplation – in Mary´s company – of the face of Christ, this demanding ideal of being conformed to him is pursued through an association which could be described in terms of friendship. We are thereby enabled to enter naturally into Christ´s life and as it were to share his deepest feelings.”
(John Paul II, Rosarium Virginis Mariae, n. 15)
